Ticket to Ride Worldwide Surfing Adventures is set to run its first TTRide Surf Adventure course up the coast of Mozambique during April 2009.
The three weeks of surfing and travelling along coast of this relatively unexplored sub-tropical surfing paradise will be the setting for Ticket to Ride’s most extreme surfing adventure to date.
“Being able to push the boundaries of surf travel and surf exploration is something that we are continually working on here at Ticket to Ride,” said Will Hayler, co-founder of Ticket to Ride
“The planning for this adventure started more than two years ago and with it now just two weeks away it is incredibly exciting” added Linley Lewis who, along with Hayler, founded Ticket to Ride in 2005.
TTRide Mozambique is run using purpose built 4x4 vehicles capable of taking Riders to surfing locations that are mostly unheard of and that otherwise would be unreachable.
Landing in Durban (South Africa), Riders will have 2 days to acclimatise to their sub-tropical African surroundings before loading up and moving North through South African safari land, over the border and into Mozambique.
From here Ticket to Ride’s first group of “Mozam Riders” will spend some of their most memorable surfing days enjoying the flawless point break waves found in Ponta D’Ouro before moving even further north to Tofu, known to be one of Mozambique’s most beautiful destinations. With world class surfing options on offer at both of these locations, Riders on this inaugural TTRide Mozambique adventure are in for a treat.
“As well as being a surf course, TTRide Mozambique gives Riders a truly African experience adding an important cultural experience to the trip,” said Tim Conibear, manager of TTRide Africa.
The trip then returns to South Africa and winds its way back down the Northern KZN coast to Durban where the Riders can reflect on where they have been, what they have learnt, what they have experienced and when they’ll next go back.
This TTRide adventure is best suited to those already surfing at or beyond intermediate level who are looking to discover new breaks and push the boundaries of surf exploration.
